Who we are

Visual PDF is published by Emmanuel Jégo, sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel) registered in France. Full publisher and hosting details are on the legal notice page.

The service

Visual PDF provides online tools to manipulate, edit and create PDF documents: merging, splitting, compressing, signing, watermarking, converting and more. Almost all tools run entirely in your browser; the Word, Excel and PowerPoint converters use our server, as described in the privacy policy.

No account is required to use the service.

Price

The service is currently free of charge. We may introduce optional paid features in the future; if we do, these terms will be updated and the price will always be clearly displayed before you commit to anything. Nothing you can do on the site today can trigger a payment.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the service lawfully. In particular, you must not:

• Process documents whose content is illegal or that you have no right to use.
• Attempt to disrupt or overload the service, or to bypass its security measures, quotas or rate limits.
• Access the service through automated means (bots, scripts, scraping), except for normal search-engine indexing.
• Use the conversion service as a backend for another product or service without our written permission.

Your files stay yours

You keep every right to the documents you process with Visual PDF. We claim no license and no ownership over them; the only operations performed on your files are the technical steps needed to run the tool you invoked.

You remain responsible for the documents you process and for keeping copies of your originals.

Intellectual property

The Visual PDF site, name, logo, design and software are the property of the publisher. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them without prior written permission.

Availability and warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", free of charge. We work to keep it fast and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a tool's output will match your expectations in every case. Results of client-side tools can also depend on your browser and device.

Always keep your original files. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes the statutory rights you hold as a consumer.

Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages arising from the use of a free service, such as loss of data or loss of business, where they do not result from a breach of our obligations. This clause does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under French law, including in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Third-party services

Some features rely on third-party services: Microsoft performs the Office conversions and Google provides the optional Drive import. Your use of these features is also subject to those providers' own terms and policies. We are not responsible for external sites linked from Visual PDF.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the service evolves. The current version, with its date, is always published on this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms; if a change is significant, we will highlight it on the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, subject to mandatory consumer rules on jurisdiction.
