Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The document is read in your browser and never leaves your device. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or scanned. Open your browser's network tab while you extract and you will see that no file is sent anywhere.

Will the images lose quality?

No. A photo inside a PDF is normally already a JPEG file, and the tool hands those bytes over untouched rather than re-encoding them, so you get exactly what was stored in the document. The one exception: images that need transparency, a palette, or a color conversion are decoded and saved as PNG.

What is the difference between this and converting a PDF to JPG?

Converting a PDF to JPG renders each page into a picture. This tool finds the images already embedded inside the document and pulls them out as separate files. If you want whole pages as images, use the PDF to JPG tool instead.

Can I get the logos and drawings out too?

Photos, scans, and bitmap logos come out. Drawings built from vector shapes are not stored as image files in the PDF, so they cannot be pulled out as one. If a logo was saved as a bitmap it appears; if it was drawn as vectors it will not.

Can I get them as PNG?

Images that need transparency or a color palette already come out as PNG. JPEG photos come out as JPEG, because re-wrapping one as PNG would mean decoding and re-encoding it, which is the quality loss the question above is about.

Does it work on my phone?
